This scheme was commissioned in 1985 and designed to serve the following nine local government area – Moba, Ilejemeje, Ido/Osi, Oye, Ijero, Ekiti South West, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ado and Ekiti West. A total of 66 towns and communities are being served by the scheme.

Areas currently having water include: Moba, Ilejemeje, Ido/Osi, Part of Oye, Part of Irepodun/Ifelodun, and part of Ado which include the following communities
